Dometic's roof, under-bench and battery-powered air conditioners for campervans, motorhomes and caravans, from the 1,500W FreshJet to the 2,000W CoolAir RTX 2000.

The Dometic range, explained

  • FreshJet FJZ4: conventional 230V roof units for a 400 × 400mm opening. The 1,500W model draws just 3.1A for small vans; the 2,200W model adds 1,000W of heating, Wi-Fi control and CleanAir.
  • FreshLight 2200: a roof air conditioner with a rooflight built in, so you keep daylight from above. 2,050W cooling and 2,700W heating for vehicles up to 7m.
  • FreshWell FWX4: fits under a bench instead of on the roof. 2,000W cooling and up to 2,500W heating for vehicles up to 8m.
  • CoolAir RTX: self-contained parking coolers that run from batteries. The RTX 1000 is 12V; the RTX 2000 is 24V.

Choosing between them

If you camp on hook-up, a FreshJet is the simplest fit; choose the FreshLight if you do not want to give up a rooflight. If the roof is full or you want to keep the vehicle's height, the FreshWell goes under a seat. If you want cooling with no hook-up at all, the CoolAir RTX units run from the leisure battery, and need a battery and charging system to match. Size it all in the Roam Wired calculator.

Air distribution boxes

FreshJet roof units need a ceiling air distribution box. We offer the matching box as a package on each FreshJet listing: the manual-control box made for the FJZ4 1500, and the ADBE touch-display box for digital FJZ units.
