Fitting

Overview
Dometic FreshLight 2200 Roof Air Conditioner
A roof air conditioner and a rooflight in one unit: 2,050W of cooling and 2,700W of heating without losing daylight from above. Dometic's answer to the usual trade-off, where fitting air conditioning means giving up a roof window.
- Integrated rooflight lets natural light in through the air conditioner
- 2,050W cooling and 2,700W heating
- Active ventilation brings in fresh air as well as conditioning it
- Dimmable LED lighting, controlled from the panel or the remote
- Adjustable airflow left, right, up and down
- For caravans and motorhomes up to 7m
Where it makes sense
In a motorhome or caravan where the roof is already crowded with a skylight, solar and a satellite dish, the FreshLight takes the place of both a rooflight and a separate air conditioner. It suits vehicles up to 7m and arrives with its remote control and the fixing materials for installation.
Powering it
This is a 230V unit. Dometic rate the heat pump at 1,200W, roughly 5.2A on a campsite supply, so it runs on a 10A or 16A pitch alongside other loads, but it would take most of a 6A hook-up by itself. It is not practical to run from leisure batteries for any length of time. Check your own loads in the Roam Wired calculator.
Before you order
At 44.5kg and 1,105 × 758mm it is larger and heavier than most roof units. Check the roof cut-out and roof-thickness figures in Dometic's installation manual against your vehicle first; ask us and we'll send them over. Installation should be carried out by a competent fitter, with the 230V supply signed off by a qualified electrician.
