Yilkar YH2 Diesel Air Heater Kit | 2.5kW, 12/24V

A 2.5kW diesel night heater that draws fuel from the vehicle's own tank, so there's no gas locker to fill and nothing to refill but the van. It runs independently of the engine, using 0.2 litres of diesel an hour on average.

Standard or Comfort?

Both kits use the same YH2 heater and fitting parts. The Standard controller has a 0.97-inch OLED screen and four buttons, with heating and ventilation modes, and the heater works up to 1,500m. The Comfort controller has a 1.23-inch OLED display, weekly programming and Eco, Normal and Max power settings, plus an altitude sensor that lets the heater run up to 4,000m. Choose Comfort if you ski or tour in the Alps.

Powering it

Yilkar quote 8A while the heater starts and 3A once it's running. An eight-hour night at 3A is about 24Ah, plus a little for start-up and shutdown. A 100Ah lithium battery covers a few nights without charging, and solar or driving tops it back up. What's in the kit

The heater, air routing hose kit, inlet and outlet vents, main wiring loom, vibration-absorbing seal, combustion and exhaust clamps and hoses, polyamide fuel hose, fuel metering pump with its damper connection kit, fuel filter, fuel pick-up hose kit and the controller for your chosen kit.

Fitting

The heater measures 320 × 130 × 150mm and weighs 3kg. Installation means tapping into the fuel tank and routing the exhaust outside, so use an experienced installer. Ask us if you're unsure how it fits your van.
