Whale HeatAir Underfloor Gas & Electric Heater | 5kW or 6kW

Blown-air heating that fits under the floor, so it takes no cupboard, bed box or wardrobe space inside the van. The HeatAir burns LPG on its own, and on hook-up its electric element adds up to 3kW, either instead of gas or alongside it.

• Two outputs: 5kW (HeatAir 5GTE) or 6kW (HeatAir 6GTE), the same size and weight
• Gas, electric or both: run on LPG off-grid, on the element when you're paying for hook-up, or both for the fastest warm-up
• Three gas settings: 109, 233 or 342g/h on the 5kW; 131, 342 or 436g/h on the 6kW
• Underfloor mounting with a Z-bracket and isolation mounts, and the flue and combustion air intake below the floor
• Control panel included, connected by the supplied LIN cable

Powering it

On gas the heater only needs 12V for its fan and electronics. Whale quote as little as 0.6A on the low setting, which is roughly 5Ah over an eight-hour night: a small share of a 100Ah lithium battery. Higher settings draw more while the fan works harder. What's in the kit

The heater, control panel and LIN cable; combustion air intake flue with silencer, clamp and 60mm bracket; exhaust flue with clamp, three brackets (40, 60 and 80mm) and a 100mm end-terminal bracket; the Z mounting bracket, isolation mounts and bracket screws; and Whale's installation and operating literature. Warm-air ducting and outlets aren't in MQL's kit list, so plan to buy those for your layout.

Fitting

The unit measures 175 × 165 × 559mm and weighs 8.7kg. It connects to your LPG supply, so have it fitted and commissioned by a qualified LPG installer. Not sure whether 5kW or 6kW suits your vehicle? Ask us.
