The air distribution box
The roof unit needs an air distribution box inside. The ADBE, offered as a package above, is Dometic's box for its digital FJZ and FJX roof units: a flush touch display sets temperature and fan speed, dimmable warm-white LEDs give soft light, air goes front and back, and it sits just 48mm below the ceiling.
Powering it
This is a 230V air conditioner for hook-up or generator use. The 1,000W heat mode is a useful way to take the chill off on hook-up without burning gas. Check it against your other loads and your hook-up rating in the Roam Wired calculator.
Fitting
At 30.9kg the unit shares the FreshJet FJZ4's 752 × 702mm footprint. Confirm the roof cut-out and roof thickness in Dometic's installation instructions against your vehicle, or ask us to check. Have the 230V supply signed off by a qualified electrician. For a small van, the FreshJet FJZ4 1500 draws just 3.1A.
