Fitting
Check the cut-out size, wall or roof thickness and power supply in the specification against your vehicle before you order. Gas appliances must be fitted by a qualified gas engineer, and anything wired into 230V mains should be signed off by a qualified electrician.

Overview
Waeco WAC2600 Roof Air Conditioner
2,600W of cooling for motorhomes, caravans and large vans up to 8m, from a 400 × 400mm roof opening. The middle of the Waeco range: more cooling than the WAC2200 for longer vehicles, on the same roof footprint.
- 2,600W cooling, cooling only
- 6A running current, 6A fuse
- Fits a 400 × 400mm roof cut-out
- Two-way airflow to the front and rear
- Remote control for temperature and fan speed
- Gentle start-up, designed for campsites with low fuse protection
Powering it
At 6A on 230V the WAC2600 draws about 1,380W while cooling. That is the entire supply on a 6A pitch, so on a low-rated hook-up it needs to run on its own, with the kettle and water heater off. On a 10A or 16A pitch there is room for everything else. From batteries through an inverter it would use well over 1kWh an hour, which makes it a hook-up or generator appliance for almost every build. Check your own loads in the Roam Wired calculator.
What fitting involves
The 30kg roof unit sits over a standard 400 × 400mm opening. Inside, it needs a ceiling air distribution box, which Waeco sell separately; the package with the flat WAC ADBL box above covers it, and at 54mm deep it keeps headroom. The 230V circuit should be installed or checked by a qualified electrician.
Which Waeco is right?
For a van or motorhome under 7m the WAC2200 draws less current. If you want heating from the same unit, the WAC2600i adds a 2,300W heat pump and an inverter compressor that runs more quietly at part load.
