How buying this works

Roam Wired does not stock this item. The button above hands you over to the seller's own shop, where you place the order, pay and arrange delivery directly with them. Nothing is added to a Roam Wired basket, and we never see your payment details.

We list it because it is the part our calculator would specify for a build like yours, not because we make the most on it. How we make money

Delivery and returns

Delivery cost, delivery time and the returns window are set by the seller, not by us, and Roam Wired's own £10 / free-over-£250 UK delivery does not apply here. Check their delivery and returns terms on their product page before you order.

Your consumer rights, including the 14-day right to cancel a distance sale, are against the seller who took your order.

Warranty and support

The manufacturer's warranty is handled by the seller you buy from. If something fails, raise it with them and quote their order number — we cannot open a claim on your behalf.

Overview

Rover Li 20 Amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller

20A MPPT, 95V input, 260W of panel at 12V. The entry point to the Rover range and the right controller for a modest roof — one or two panels on a weekender, where MPPT still buys you meaningfully more than PWM on a cold clear morning.

  • 20A rated charge current
  • 95V DC maximum PV input
  • 260W at 12V, 520W at 24V
  • 12V/24V auto-detect for non-lithium
  • Charges over-discharged lithium packs
  • IP32, 210 × 151 × 68mm, 1.4kg

Where MPPT actually wins

An MPPT controller converts surplus panel voltage into extra charge current instead of throwing it away. The gain is largest exactly when you need it — cold, bright winter days, when panel voltage is high and the sun is low. On a 260W array that can be the difference between the fridge running on solar and the fridge running on the battery.

Sizing to the array

260W at 12V is the ceiling. Two 100W panels is comfortable; two 175W panels is not, and you would be clipping output at the very times the roof is producing well. Size the controller to the array you intend to end up with, not the one you are starting with — upgrading the panel is easy, replacing the controller means redoing the wiring.

Before you order

IP32, so keep it in a dry cupboard. Terminals take up to 8AWG (10mm²). Power consumption is under 100mA at 12V, which is small but not nothing over a month of standing.
