How buying this works

Roam Wired does not stock this item. The button above hands you over to the seller's own shop, where you place the order, pay and arrange delivery directly with them. Nothing is added to a Roam Wired basket, and we never see your payment details.

We list it because it is the part our calculator would specify for a build like yours, not because we make the most on it. How we make money

Delivery and returns

Delivery cost, delivery time and the returns window are set by the seller, not by us, and Roam Wired's own £10 / free-over-£250 UK delivery does not apply here. Check their delivery and returns terms on their product page before you order.

Your consumer rights, including the 14-day right to cancel a distance sale, are against the seller who took your order.

Warranty and support

The manufacturer's warranty is handled by the seller you buy from. If something fails, raise it with them and quote their order number — we cannot open a claim on your behalf.

Overview

REGO 12V 60A DC-DC Battery Charger

60A with bidirectional charging — it looks after the starter battery too. The REGO charges the leisure bank from the starter battery while you drive, and once the leisure bank is full it reverses and maintains the starter battery instead. For a van that sits for weeks between trips, that second behaviour is the interesting one.

  • 60A charging on a 12V system
  • Bidirectional, recharges the starter battery when the leisure bank is full
  • 4-stage charging
  • Compatible with common 12V alternators and battery types
  • Suited to vans, motorhomes, commercial vehicles and boats

The starter battery problem

A converted van kills more starter batteries than it does leisure batteries. The vehicle sits for a fortnight, the alarm and the trackers and the radio memory drain it, and the leisure bank — full of solar, doing nothing — watches it happen. Bidirectional charging closes that loop: surplus goes back the other way and the van still starts after three weeks on a drive.

Who needs 60A

Large banks, 300Ah and up, in vehicles that drive often enough for the alternator to matter. Check the maximum charge current your battery will accept before ordering — several packs cap below 60A, and paying for current the battery refuses is money on the floor.

Before you order

60A is a serious continuous draw on the alternator once cab loads are added. Confirm the alternator rating, size the input cable for the run, and fuse both ends close to their respective batteries.
