How buying this works

Roam Wired does not stock this item. The button above hands you over to the seller's own shop, where you place the order, pay and arrange delivery directly with them. Nothing is added to a Roam Wired basket, and we never see your payment details.

We list it because it is the part our calculator would specify for a build like yours, not because we make the most on it. How we make money

Delivery and returns

Delivery cost, delivery time and the returns window are set by the seller, not by us, and Roam Wired's own £10 / free-over-£250 UK delivery does not apply here. Check their delivery and returns terms on their product page before you order.

Your consumer rights, including the 14-day right to cancel a distance sale, are against the seller who took your order.

Warranty and support

The manufacturer's warranty is handled by the seller you buy from. If something fails, raise it with them and quote their order number — we cannot open a claim on your behalf.

Overview

REGO 12V 3000W HF Inverter Charger

3,000W rated at 45°C, 9,000VA surge, THD under 3%, built-in RCD, five-year warranty. The REGO is the properly engineered end of Renogy's inverter chargers — and the only one here rated to hold full output at 45°C rather than 30°C.

  • 3,000W continuous at 45°C
  • 9,000VA surge for 100ms, 4,500VA for 5s, 3,600W for 10s
  • THD under 3%, 230V AC
  • Software and RCD short-circuit protection
  • 20ms maximum transfer, under 54dB
  • 8.8kg, 512 × 308 × 132mm, 5-year warranty

The 45°C rating is the headline

Every other inverter charger in this range quotes full output at 30°C and derates above it. The REGO holds 3,000W to 45°C. In a van cupboard in summer that is the difference between the rated figure and the actual figure — and it is why this unit costs what it does.

Surge and protection

9,000VA for 100ms is three times rated power, which handles motor inrush that would trip a lesser high-frequency unit. The built-in RCD is a real convenience for a UK installation, though it does not remove the need for a properly designed and certified 230V circuit in the vehicle.

The trade-off

No-load consumption is under 26W, appreciably higher than the 10W of the Core and Pro units. Left switched on around the clock that is over 600Wh a day. Wire it so it is easy to turn off, and the rest of the specification is the best in the range.
