How buying this works
Roam Wired does not stock this item. The button above hands you over to the seller's own shop, where you place the order, pay and arrange delivery directly with them. Nothing is added to a Roam Wired basket, and we never see your payment details.
We list it because it is the part our calculator would specify for a build like yours, not because we make the most on it. How we make money
Delivery and returns
Delivery cost, delivery time and the returns window are set by the seller, not by us, and Roam Wired's own £10 / free-over-£250 UK delivery does not apply here. Check their delivery and returns terms on their product page before you order.
Your consumer rights, including the 14-day right to cancel a distance sale, are against the seller who took your order.
Warranty and support
The manufacturer's warranty is handled by the seller you buy from. If something fails, raise it with them and quote their order number — we cannot open a claim on your behalf.

Overview
400W 12V/24V Solar Premium Kit
400W of panel and a 40A MPPT controller. For most conversions this is the right answer — enough roof to run a fridge, lights, a laptop and a water pump through summer without touching the alternator, and four ways to arrange it.
- 400W at STC, choice of four panel configurations
- Rover 40A MPPT, 12V/24V auto-detect
- Controller accepts 520W at 12V, 1,040W at 24V
- 200W panel Vmp 31.03V, Voc 37.44V, 20.7% efficiency
- 200W panel 1262 × 764 × 30mm, 10.6kg
- Certified to FCC, CE, RoHS and RCM
Two panels or four
Two 200W modules is less wiring, fewer brackets and a faster install — but each one needs a clear 1262 × 764mm, and a shaded corner costs you half the array. Four 100W modules cost more in brackets and connectors but fit around roof furniture and degrade more gracefully under partial shade. On a long-wheelbase van with a clear roof, take the two. On a cluttered roof, take the four.
400W is the practical sweet spot
Below 300W a van still leans on the alternator in summer. Above 500W you are usually adding weight and roof space for energy you cannot store. 400W into a 200Ah bank is a balanced system — and at 12V it draws around 33A, comfortably inside the 40A controller.
Before you order
Controller input is capped at 95V DC, so panels wired in series need checking against that before you commit to a string. The kit does not include mounting hardware, a cable gland or the battery-side fuse.
