100W of folding panel at 4.3kg, using cells rated over 22.6% efficient. Half the weight of the rigid suitcase, folds to roughly the size of a laptop bag, and unrolls to 1.23 metres.

Weight is the whole argument
4.3kg against 7.9kg for the rigid suitcase of the same output is the difference between a panel you actually carry out and one that stays in the locker. If the panel is going to be deployed most days, take the light one; if it lives out permanently on a seasonal pitch, the rigid version will last far longer.
No controller included
Unlike the suitcase kits, this is a bare panel — you need a charge controller between it and the battery. If the van already has an MPPT controller with a spare input, that is the better home for it anyway, since MPPT will get more out of the panel than the PWM unit bundled with the suitcases.
Before you order
The two-year material warranty is the honest measure of a folding textile panel against a framed one. Operating range starts at −10°C rather than −40°C, which is ample for the UK but worth knowing.
