Overview
Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/70-Tr Solar Charge Controller
Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/70-Tr Solar Charge Controller | SCC115070211 supplied in the United States by Epoch Batteries.
- Manufacturer model / SKU: SCC115070211
- Maximum battery charge current: 70A
- Supported battery voltages: 12V / 24V / 36V / 48V
- Maximum PV Voc: 150V absolute
- Maximum PV short-circuit current: 50A
- Nominal PV array power: 1000W at 12V / 2000W at 24V / 3000W at 36V / 4000W at 48V
Confirm exact model compatibility and manufacturer installation requirements. Verify cold-corrected array Voc and total Isc independently. A higher wattage array does not permit exceeding the voltage or short-circuit current limits. 36V requires manual configuration.

How this product fits your system
An MPPT controller connects a suitable solar array to a compatible battery bank. Its PV voltage limit, PV current limit and battery charging current are different ratings. Check the exact model against your panel data and system voltage.
Array and tracker arrangement
Cold weather increases panel open-circuit voltage. Calculate the cold-corrected voltage of every series string before connecting it. Parallel strings add current and can need string protection. Duplicate PV connector pairs do not establish that a unit has two independent MPPT trackers.
Two separate controllers each need their own array connection and protected battery output. An actual dual-tracker unit uses independent input channels within one physical device. Never bridge independent inputs or connect one array to two controllers unless the exact manufacturer arrangement permits it.
Charging the selected bank
Set the charging profile and current for your battery. Include solar, alternator and shore charging when checking the combined bank limit. Panel wattage is not a guaranteed charging rate: shade, season, roof space, temperature and controller limits all affect the result.

The calculator uses a 12V DC / 120V AC planning model. Not every catalogue product is suitable for automatic recommendation; 24V, 48V and products missing required electrical data need a separately checked design.
