The Waeco WAC range: three 230V roof air conditioners that share one 400 × 400mm roof opening and one flat air distribution box, from 2,200W to 2,600W with heating.
Which WAC?
| WAC2200 | WAC2600 | WAC2600i | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cooling | 2,200W | 2,600W | 2,600W |
| Heating | No | No | 2,300W heat pump |
| Compressor | Fixed speed | Fixed speed | Inverter |
| Current | 4.5A | 6A | 7A |
| Vehicle length | Up to 7m | Up to 8m | Up to 8m |
| Roof unit weight | 28.5kg | 30kg | 31.5kg |
For a van or motorhome under 7m that only needs cooling, the WAC2200 draws the least. The WAC2600 adds cooling for longer vehicles. The WAC2600i is the one to choose for heating on hook-up, and its inverter compressor slows down instead of cycling on and off.
What you need to fit one
All three sit over a 400 × 400mm roof opening, often in place of an existing rooflight, and need Waeco's flat WAC ADBL air distribution box inside. At 54mm deep it keeps headroom. Each listing offers the roof unit on its own or packaged with the box. The 230V supply should be installed or checked by a qualified electrician.
On hook-up
Waeco designed the range to start gently on campsites with low fuse protection. At 230V a 6A pitch supplies about 1,380W, enough for the WAC2200 with room to spare, while the WAC2600 uses the whole supply. Check your loads in the Roam Wired calculator.
